Most of the local residents are involved in the tourism business, in particular in the yachting industry. More than 20 marinas, hosting thousands of ships, offer tourists yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca. The largest of these is the Royal Palm Marine Club, located in the bay in the southwest of the city. Every year she organizes international sailing competitions and regattas, including the King's Cup and Copa del Ray. It also houses the yacht club of the same name and a sailing school. Son Sant Joan International Airport is 3 kilometers from the marina.

To the west, at a distance of 9 nautical miles, is the Cala Portals Wels Marina, next to which there are sandy beaches and a rocky coast. To the east of the city, in a natural harbor, stands the fishing village of Porto Colom with the Club Nautic Portocolom marina, equipped with an anchorage and offering yacht charter in Palma. In the northern part of Palma, there is the Cala Agulla Bay, declared a nature reserve since 1991. It is a coastal strip surrounded by a large pine forest.

In the West of the island, there is Port de Soller with the marina of the same name. It is a small resort located in a horseshoe-shaped bay. It is crossed by a boulevard 3 kilometers long, equipped with small shops, benches and lanterns. To the south is the town of Port Andreech with a large marina of the same name, which also offers yacht charter in Palma de Mallorca. This is the administrative and cultural center of Palma, which houses a major exhibition of contemporary art with an area of over 4,000 sq. meters.

The most important attraction of the city is the Paseo de Born - its largest street, starting at the Cathedral and reaching the Juan Carlos I Square. There are many flower beds with tropical plants and trees, hiding tourists from the heat. There are also large shops and brand boutiques, and in the evenings, various dance and music shows are regularly held. The city is rich in ancient architectural landmarks, including the Palma Cathedral, which was built from the 13th to the 16th century, and the Royal Palace of Almudain, built in the 10th century.
